For many years we have been one of Ecuador’s most fun, friendly backpacker hostels. We have spectacular views from our rooftop terrace/restaurant/bar, making it a great place to volunteer, improve your Spanish, get to know the locals, meet loads of other fun travellers or just chill-out watching the sunset over the historic Old Town.
Volunteer Exchange:
Ideal for English Teachers, yoga teachers or people with hospitality restaurant/Bar experience
No cooking, cleaning, changing sheets or washing the pots and pans! We are not looking for volunteers to replace our paid Ecuadorian staff, but rather to complement them

Some cases could be different but volunteers work about 30 hours per week most of the times we need more help on the weekends, but we are very flexible on the schedule. You will have plenty of time off to do things in and around Ecuador
In return we offer accommodation (generally in a large room shared with other volunteers), 2 free meals, tea, milk, and drinking water every day , and half price for extra food or drinks .
You will have plenty of opportunity to improve your Spanish, and have the option of taking cost-price Spanish classes with our teacher ($5 per hour). Learning Spanish is probably the number one reason that people choose to volunteer with us.
We’ll also give you a free night (incl meals, drinks and a guided trek) at The Secret Garden Cotopaxi for a night and some other tours depending on availability.
